It used to be, a porn star past was the kiss of death. No one would hire you. Now, studios do not really care. They know you have a huge fan base already – so why not?

While the world has embraced Kim Kardashian, Dustin Zito and the litany of
others who have parlayed X-rated careers into reality television, Bravo  dragged its Christian Louboutin high heels last year  to admitting that the confirmed
star of its Million Dollar Listings New York, Fredrik Eklund, got his start behind the cameras showing off a different kind of high rise.

Eklund, is  not ashamed of his porn
career; in 2010 he spoke candidly about his career change in a New York Times piece unambiguously titled “From Pornography to Real Estate.”

We told you about this development last March. Why it took a year to get this show on the air, who knows.

Million Dollar LIsting NY  will be more of a  Bravo Housewives series due to all the drama.

The characters in the New York version  include Fredrik Eklund, a Swedish, gay ex-porn star turned Manhattan real estate hottie, and his business partner John Gomes. Also included will be Caroline Grane, described as a as “pretty and personable” Swedish bombshell, with the fourth cast member being Michael Lorber, a soft-spoken, smart, eligible bachelor on the show.

Sources  say it appears to follow
the “Housewives” formula — strong, contrasting personalities who travel
in the same circle but each with their own story and who clash whenever
things threaten to get too boring.  Scheduled for a late summer/ fall
release.

Back to Frederik Eklund….Eklund entered a career in gay pornographic film under the pseudonym Tag Eriksson (or Tag Ericsson). He starred in the porn comedy movie The Hole (2003), and for this role won a Gay VN  award for “Best Solo Scene.” He appeared in six additional gay porn films  with JET SET..

Eklund became Managing Director at the New York City real estate firm CORE Group Marketing. CORE is featured on the HGTV   prim and posh “Selling New York.”   tv show.
Several sources say that Eklund jumped real estate firms when HGTV
refused to let the ex-porn star appear on “Selling New York.”  So in
 2010, he became  Managing Director at Prudential Douglas Elliman.

Eklund is constantly rated as downtown New York’s  “Top Luxury Broker” and was
nominated as “Rookie of the Year” by the Real Estate Board of New York. 
He set record sales in 28 buildings in Manhattan last year and is often
spotted showing apartments to top name celebrities.
