Channing Tatum Steve Carroll Foxcatcher
This looks GREAT! Based on a shocking true story, Channing Tatum and Steve Carell star in the upcoming film Foxcatcher. EVERYONE is talking about both Channing and Steve and their award winning performances.
It is about a wrestler (Tatum) who wants to be the best wrestler in the world and a mysterious older benefactor (Carell) who offers him his patronage.
Dave Schultz was an Olympic and world champion freestyle wrestler. While training for another Olympic bid, he was killed by a gunshot from mad athletic sponsor John Eleuthère du Pont. Four months after Dave’s murder, his brother Mark competed in UFC 9 and won. Dave Schultz is the only 1984 Olympic Champion to win the 1983 World Championships and Mark is the only 1984 Olympic Champion to win the 1985 World Championships. When Mark won another World Championship in 1987, he became the first Olympic Champion to add two additional World titles. What a story!
What begins as a mutually symbiotic relationship quickly devolves into something darker and more twisted.
Channing talks about the grueling training and how it changed him, “Look, when you’re in that kind of a movie, it doesn’t matter if you’re hurt or not,” the actor told Yahoo. “You keep moving forward. I don’t think my knees will ever be the same after that, and I still have cauliflower ear. But if I came out of the movie without it, I’d feel like I didn’t do something right.”

Del Shores – A Very Sordid Wedding
Award-winning Writer/Director/Producer Del Shores (Southern Baptist Sissies, “Queer As Folk”, Blues For Willadean) has announced that his next feature film project will be A Very Sordid Wedding, a sequel to his 2001 gay cult classic film Sordid Lives. Bonnie Bedelia (“Parenthood”), Leslie Jordan (“Will & Grace”, “American Horror Story: Coven”) and Caroline Rhea (“Sabrina The Teenage Witch”) are attached to reprise their roles. Shores’ Beard Collins Shores Productions has launched an Indiegogo fundraising campaign to assemble the project and secure investor financing.

Breaking Glass Pictures will be releasing Corpus Christi: Playing with Redemption, a feature documentary focusing on Terrence McNally’s controversial off-Broadway play “Corpus Christi,” which imagines Jesus as a gay man living in Corpus Christi, Texas.
The documentary follows the troupe, Terrence, and audience around the world on a 5-year journey, where voices of protest and support collide on one of the central issues facing the LGBT community: religion.
The play originally opened at the Manhattan Theatre Club in 1998 to intense protest and bomb threats. Terrence McNally is a four-time Tony Award winning playwright, famous for Broadway hits Ragtime, Master Class, and Love! Valour! Compassion!

YONY LEYSER is back!
Critically acclaimed director YONY LEYSER (William S. Burroughs: A Man Within) and AMARD BIRD FILMS are pleased to announce the launch of a Kickstarter campaign to raise funds for the completion of daring debut narrative film DESIRE WILL SET YOU FREE.
DESIRE explores artistic and marginalized life in Berlin with an often critical, and sometimes humorous (but never mocking) eye. The story follows the encounter between an American writer of Israeli/Palestinian descent and a Russian aspiring artist working as a hustler.
Actively exploring gender identity, sexuality, and the differences between expatriate and refugee life, the main characters travel through Berlin’s layered history and unique subcultural landscape. On their adventures they discover influences and remnants of the Weimar Republic, WWII, the Bowie years, and punk.
The film features Berlin’s queen of punk herself Nina Hagen (pictured right), electro star Peaches, Brooklyn’s Blood Orange, German sensation Rummelsnuff, rapper Sookee, Jochen Arbeit of Einstürzende Neubauten and Wolfgang Müller, plus cast members Amber Benson (of Buffy the Vampire Slayer fame), German film legend Rosa Von Praunheim, artists Eva & Adele, photographer Miron Zownir, as well as newcomers Tim-Fabian Hoffman, Chloé Griffin and the director himself, Yony Leyser.
The script is based on Leyser’s real life experiences and evolved from conversations over the last few years while making the German capital his home:
“This film represents a world that I have been part of for the last 4 years in Berlin, and the characters are based on interesting people here who have been part of my life. Berlin is a city of refugees, a place for outcasts and artists to gather, and this film in a big way is the story we share together.”
With shooting for DESIRE now complete and the premiere scheduled for Spring 2015, Leyser, along with Amard Bird Films, is working with Kickstarter to help free the project from the financial constraints of post-production.
“Because of the edgy nature of the film, studio financing is not always the best approach. Kickstarter allows us to connect to the public directly and let them be a part of the process.” Leyser explains. “We have already achieved so much as a result of our talented cast and crew, now we just need to get over this one final hurdle.”

The former MSNBC host Alec Baldwin who came under fire in June for calling a reporter a “toxic little queen” on Twitter, has been caught on camera threatening the paparazzi and using anti-gay slurs while doing so.
TMZ, where you can watch the clip: The video shows Baldwin — who was with his wife and baby — taking off in angry pursuit after the pap (not ours) … yelling, cursing and calling him a “c**ksucking f*g.”
FAMOUS drag queen Lady Bunny came to his defense last month in Huffington Post. And I have to agree, Should we really be decimating the man’s entire career over a few angry words that flew out of his mouth during an angry exchange at the end of a draining trial? DEADLINE HOLLYWOOD reports: Alec Baldwin has signed on as executive producer of Compared to What: The Improbable Journey of Barney Frank, a new documentary about the openly gay ex-Massachusetts Congressman which debuts next month at the Tribeca Film Festival.
Baldwin will be conducting a Q&A with Frank at Tribeca after the film’s April 27 festival premiere. “Barney Frank is a personal hero of mine,” he said in a statement. “His legacy in Congress – and his historic importance as the first openly gay and married Congressman – important for our country.”

HOTTIE Theo James spoke with the Advocate last week and discussed how parallels could be drawn between between the movies premise and gay people….the interviewer asks, “What if I told you Divergent could be interpreted as not only a gay allegory, but one that specifically highlights bisexuality?”
Theo sits up, cocks an eyebrow, and mulls over the question for a long moment before a wide grin settles across his face. “Yeah,” he says, nodding his head. “That’s an interesting parallel to make. I hadn’t connected those dots myself, but there’s definitely truth in there.”
When asked if Theo thinks we’ll see a film like Divergent featuring an LGBT hero in the near future he pauses for a moment and chews on his lower lip as he considers the question before responding. “It’s very hard to tell,” he says. “Because today there are great shows like Looking, poignant pieces of work that revolve around a central cast of characters that happen to be gay. But I remember when Queer as Folk came out and thinking, Things are changing. Maybe there will be more [shows like this]. And then suddenly there was a drought. Hopefully the day [we have a gay action hero] isn’t far away.”

Gaga’s Born This Way Foundation Has High Expenses
It REALLY irritates me when I see “non-profits” wasting so much money behind the scenes, that there is nothing left to do any good.
Years ago Dionne Warwick was involved in early an AIDS benefit called “That’s What Friends Are For”. MILLIONS of dollars were raised, but charities saw very little after her expenses.
Barbra Streisand does a charity show and gives 90% of the money to charity, taking very little for herself.
Lady GaGa’s Born This Way Foundation is “to foster a more accepting society, where differences are embraced and individuality is celebrated.”
Both The New York Post and Roger Friedman at Showbiz411 report that records show that in 2012, the Born This Way Foundation claimed $2.1 million in net assets and brought in $2.6 million in donations. But a giant chunk of that money went to paying off lawyers, consultants, publicists, travel expenses and all sorts of other shit. Total spent on expenses was around $1.5 million and total spent on actual charity was $5,000, which is probably half of what that curdled sperm catsuit cost. The Post breaks down the charity’s expenses like this:

A spokeswhore for the Born This Way Foundation told the Post that their goal isn’t to give grants and shit. Their goal is to raise awareness. They taught 19,000 kids about “civic engagement” during their bus tour last summer.

parliament passed a ban on so-called “gay propaganda” that effectively

Moscow has outlawed Gay Pride parades for the next 100 years. Adoption
of Russian children is forbidden to citizens of any foreign country that
permits gay marriage.And legislation is now being considered that

It started with a heart wrenching video that went viral overnight. On May 7, 2012, the anniversary of Tom’s death, after a year of
documenting his own grief, Shane decided to make a video tribute to his
partner entitled “It Could Happen To You.” This film, posted on YouTube,
received over 3.4 million views and has been translated into over 20
different languages. The impact of Shane’s YouTube video and the raw
nerve it touched, tells us this is an important story that needs to be
told.
With the incredible support from influential people like Brad and George
Takei and Neil Patrick Harris, Bridegroom was successfully funded on
July 19, 2012 by over 6,500 people on Kickstarter.com becoming the most
funded documentary in the history of crowd funding, and released in the
fall of 2013.
BRIDEGROOM is a documentary directed by Linda Bloodworth-Thomason that
tells the emotional journey of Shane and Tom, two young men in a loving
and committed relationship — a relationship that was cut tragically
short by a misstep off the side of a roof. The story of what happened
after this accidental death– of how people without the legal protections
of marriage can find themselves completely shut out and ostracized– is
poignant, enraging and opens a window onto the issue of marriage
equality like no speech or lecture ever will.
