Grace Jones Hula Hoops at 64 for 4 minutes!

Grace Jones Hula Hoops @ Queen Elizabeth Diamond Jubilee!

I adore Grace Jones. She was the first performance artist to sing and tour before any of these other bitches!

For all you young-ins, Grace was known for her outrageous costumes and onstage persona. Jones started out as a model and became a muse to Andy Warhol, who photographed her extensively.  During that era she regularly went to the New York City nightclub Studio 54. Jones secured a record deal with Island Records in 1977, which resulted in a string of dance-club hits. In the late 1970s, she adapted the emerging electronic music style and adopted a severe, androgynous look with square-cut hair and angular, padded clothes. Her stage shows were amazing!

So it was really no   surprise that 64 year old Grace Jones
stole the show yesterday when she performed her hit ‘ Slave To The
Rhythm’ while hula-hooping on stage at Queen Elizabeth’s Diamond Jubilee
celebration in London. When we first heard about this on twitter, we
prayed there was video. The gods have answered!

Grace took to the stage in front of Buckingham Palace in a red rubber
wig, toned arms and legs looking hot as ever, , and a hula-hoop, an act she’s performed before
but seen by millions for the first time.  After performing, Grace
wished the Queen a happy birthday, which was on the 2nd of this month.
Critics are saying the Jamaican performer was wrong – and it was not dignified.  WHAT EVER!

Behind the scenes, Grace Jones clung to Prince William’s side like a strip of Velcro – leaving the future king shaken and very stirred – it was said!
