Google Wants to Legalize Gay Love Around the World

This could be a big fat hoax. I don’t know how GAY STAR NEWS   got this story or information, and you can not even get on their site to see the story – but the story is sweeping the internet. Furthermore, why would GAY STAR NEWS get this amazing story to break? Wouldn’t Google  call a press conference? or do a big press release??

According to Gay Star News,  GOOGLE’s  “Legalize Love” campaign will officially launch on Saturday, July
7. While the campaign will initially start in Poland and Singapore,
Google intends to expand it to every country that they have an office
in around the world.

Gay Star News says the campaign “will tackle places where it is
illegal to be gay, or where there are other anti-gay laws or where the
culture is homophobic.”

Google, long known for their pro-LGBT business practices, has a clear
goal. The company’s Mark Palmer-Edgecumbe says: ‘We want our employees
who are gay or lesbian or transgender to have the same experience
outside the office as they do in the office. It is obviously a very
ambitious piece of work.’

Google will join forces with other non-government organizations (NGO’s) to lobby the governments.

Palmer-Edgecumbe cites Singapore as an example of a country that
would benefit from tolerant, pro-gay stance, saying: ‘Singapore wants to
be a global financial center and world leader and we can push them on
the fact that being a global center and a world leader means you have to
treat all people the same, irrespective of their sexual orientation.’

Parker-Edgecumbe also acknowledges that a more LGBT-accepting world is also good for Google’s bottom line. He notes:

‘We operate in very many countries and have a very globally mobile
workforce. We have had a number of instances where we have been trying
to hire people into countries where there are these issues and have been
unable to put the best person into a job in that country.

‘Conversely we have had to move people out of countries where they
have been experiencing homophobia to a different location. And we are
also having to support staff in those countries in terms of
relationships with the government and homophobia they are experiencing
outside of the office.’

With Google’s massive and immediate world reach and its ability and
willingness to work with both NGO’s and governments, there could be real
tangible results from their efforts to “Legalize Love” and ultimately,
to legalize gay.

So, who knows if it is true or not. We’ll see.
