Tony Bennett Lady Gaga Concerts

lady gaga tony bennett concerts

Tony Bennett and Lady Gaga celebrated the launch of their new album, CHEEK TO CHEEK, released today, with a live performance in the city of Brussels last night.  Held outdoors at the Grande Place plaza, thousands of fans had the opportunity to hear them sing selected songs from their critically-acclaimed collaborative jazz album.

Today’s release marks the continuance of an extensive campaign to support CHEEK TO CHEEK that began with the album’s announcement in July that has included special events, surprise concert appearances in Montreal and Tel Aviv and unique marketing tie-ins with ESPN and the US Tennis Open, the Home Shopping Network and H&M retail stores. Media coverage has kicked off with covers of Parade, Harpers Bazaar and DownBeat (marking Lady Gaga’s first appearance on the famed jazz magazine’s cover and Bennett’s sixth cover).

Photographer Steven Klein created the visual campaign for the record and studio videos of several tracks were released featuring footage from the studio recording sessions and other personal moments.  A live concert event on PBS Great Performances, sponsored by LG Electronics and filmed in 4K technology, premieres on October 24th.  Amazon Instant Video customers will be able to stream the performance in the highest resolution at no added cost when it becomes available later this year.

Tony Bennett and Lady Gaga’s live Brussels performance was filmed and will be presented as a special engagement theatrical release in Barco Escape theaters in early 2015, but a sneak preview is set to air this Friday, September 26 on Good Morning America when the morning show broadcasts a song from the event. Additionally set for Friday is an announcement of plans for a US concert appearance.

Barco, the worldwide market share leader in digital cinema projection, will release this first theatrical live music event in Barco Escape, the company’s new multi-screen, 270-degree panoramic movie format. Corrino Media Group are the producers / partners on the project. They are multi-faceted in creative content and are global experts in cinematic quality live event production.

Barbra Streisand Makes History with “Partners”

It’s official – Barbra Streisand’s “Partners” has entered the Billboard 200 chart at number one, making her the only recording artist in history to have a number one release in six consecutive decades.

Ms. Streisand is the best-selling female recording artist in history. She is the only woman to make the All-Time Top 10 Best Selling Artists list, an honor which includes fellow duet “Partners” Elvis Presley and Billy Joel. She also now has the longest span of number one albums in history; just under 50 years. (She first landed at the top of the chart in October 1964 with “People.”)

Barbra Streisand has recorded fifty-one gold, thirty platinum and thirteen multi-platinum albums in her career, including ten number ones: “People,” “The Way We Were,” “A Star is Born,” “Guilty,” “The Broadway Album,” “Greatest Hits Volume 2,” “Back to Broadway,” “Higher Ground,” “Love is the Answer” and now “Partners.” With ten, Streisand is the female artist with the most number one albums in Billboard’s history.

“Partners” is Ms. Streisand’s 33rd album to make it into the Top 10 on the US charts. She is the only female artist to have achieved this milestone, tying her with Frank Sinatra.

Earlier today, Ms. Streisand posted the following note to her Facebook account thanking her fans, her duet partners and her team:

Hearing the news that “Partners” entered the charts at #1 was an overwhelming feeling of joy!!

Being told that I’ve had #1 albums in six consecutive decades makes me feel truly blessed and grateful to have such loyal fans. I feel you rooting for me and I so appreciate all of your energy and support.

It’s especially sweet since I get to share this moment with my wonderfully talented partners who I had the pleasure of singing with: Michael Bublé, Stevie Wonder, John Mayer, Babyface, Billy Joel, Blake Shelton, Lionel Richie, Andrea Bocelli, John Legend, Josh Groban, my beloved son Jason Gould…and last but not least, Elvis Presley…forever The King!

Finally, thank you to Rob Stringer and my Columbia Records family, my manager Marty Erlichman, my creative team on this project – Kenny Edmonds, Walter Afanasieff, Dave Reitzas, Bill Ross, and Jay Landers…and Ken Sunshine for getting the word out…we did it guys!!

With lots of love, Barbra

Singer Songwriter Jared Huff

jared huff musician singer LGBT gay

Jared was born in Louisville, KY and grew up with his mother and sister in the Indiana college town of West Lafayette. At the age of 10 his family saw a passion inside him to be a performer as he would put on concerts for the neighbors outside on the porch. Usually with some lights and a microphone that didn’t actually work he would sing songs by Aerosmith, George Michael, Queen, etc.

Jared has always had an eclectic music taste that also includes r&b, hip hop, pop, and classic rock. Growing up he excelled in music and learned various instruments including percussion, clarinet, flute, and acoustic guitar. He also studied with a vocal coach throughout college at Purdue University, where he obtained a bachelor’s of science in Hospitality & Tourism Management. Upon graduating however, there was an undeniable void – a calling. So in 2011 he made up his mind, packed his car and moved to California.

In January 2012 he was booked to perform in Orange County at an industry mixer. It was there that he met his soon-to-be manger and producer Martin Vidal. At this point in his life he knew that there was only one thing left to do in order to pursue his dream, so in April 2012 he made the move to Hollywood. From that moment he began working tirelessly on his demo EP in and out of the studio, with three original songs. Jared has performed in many clubs and mixers since the release, and as of spring 2014 has been back in the studio recording two new songs. 2014 will undoubtedly be a great year for Jared, and a great year in music.

When asked about what sets Jared apart, Martin Vidal responded,”It’s really rare to find an artist like Jared. I get approached all the time by people saying they want to do this or want to do that…everyone out here is trying to make it. But everything that Jared told me he would do he has done. Nothing or anyone can hold him back. It’s artists like him that I want to work with.

Let me first say HOW MUCH I LOVE BARBRA STREISAND! That said, I do not LOVE this photo she chose for her new CD. Something about her hair…maybe her make-up, is just off. Or maybe it’s just age?

Dolly Parton to release Just A Wee Bit Gay song

dolly parton gay music dance

Last week, the country icon spoke about an unreleased track called “Just a Wee Bit Gay,” which is reportedly part of a larger group of songs that are “very positive towards the gay community.” – could there be an LGBTQ friendly album in the works??

ROLLING STONE  REPORTS:

“It’s a great little dance tune, it’s funny and it’s got a lot of comic in it,” she told reporters. “I do write a lot of songs along those lines with people that are different and are just themselves.”

Parton also hinted at the possibility of an LGBT-friendly dance record. In fact, that’s a dream she’s been talking about for several years now, reportedly prompted by a techno remix of her classic “9 to 5.”

CHER D2K Dressed to Kill Tour 2014

cher-native-indian

68?!  Seriously?!

Still just as dazzling and stunning  as she always has been.  The Grammy, Emmy and Oscar winner is  still a diva and icon!

I read that much of the “Dressed to Kill” tour is reminiscent of/taken from Cher’s residency show at the Colosseum in Caesars Palace that ran from May 2008 to February 2011 — the fabulous costumes, “The Beat Goes On, “Half Breed” and “Believe” — while “I Got You Babe,” the “Burlesque” numbers and “Woman’s World,” “Dressed to Kill,” “Take It Like a Man” and “I Hope You Find It” from “Closer to the Truth” are new and certainly high-energy and entertaining.

The set is gorgeous, and the costumes eye popping!

Conchita Wurst Shakes up EuroVision

conchita-wurst-eurovision-gay-transgender

Thomas “Tom” Neuwirth (born 6 November 1988), better known as his drag persona Conchita Wurst, is an Austrian singer. In the role of Conchita Wurst, he will represent Austria at the Eurovision Song Contest 2014 in Copenhagen Denmark this week.

For me the most special and honoring thing is that Austria shows tolerance and acceptance and I’m so happy to be this statement. I’m allowed to be the voice of their beliefs during this time and this really makes me very proud. We, and not at least myself, want to stand for a society without hate and discrimination. And if I’m honest, I think everyone of the contestants should stand for the same, cause we are joining a very open minded project, so they should be open minded too.

For me as a musician it’s like the biggest thing so far. I really want to reach a good place in the ranking for my country, and for myself, I want to be proud of my performance. Cause I’m my worst critic. Besides that, I really hope that I get the chance to change some minds all around Europe. I want to show them that you can look whatever you want and that everybody must have the right to live their life however they want it, if nobody gets hurt.”

Kylie Minogue… Being A Gay Icon

The 5’1” powerhouse pop pixie says she is proud to be an adopted icon of the LGBT community, but what makes her appeal to gay fans isn’t accidental and yet isn’t manufactured either. “I didn’t become a gay icon or become popular in the gay community for doing something specific. That happened just because I was being myself,” she says in an interview with the Advocate here.

Tyler Glenn, Lead Singer of Neon Trees Comes Out

tyler-glenn-neon-trees-gay

TYLER GLENN, the front man of Neon Trees (Utah New Wave-pop quartet) comes out this week  for  Rolling Stone.  He also says on his Facebook Page:

I don’t think I’m special for being a gay man. That’s not why I came out. I didn’t come out so all of you could say “i knew it” based on the clothes I wear or the way I dance. I never even thought I’d have to come out.

I’d be the 50 yr old living with dogs hiding my relationships living on a beach somewhere. Maybe then i’d be comfortable with it. But it was last summer, writing songs for the new album, being so fed up with “hiding” and being so ready to be “free” that I poured my heart out into music more than I’d ever had before. Music indeed was my first love. Not a boy. It was music that I had always had a torrid love affair with. I felt I owed him, the music, or her, the song. I had to be honest with that relationship.

It was the moment I let myself write about the years spent in falling for my straight friend or the song I let myself write about thinking it was ok to be alone forever because it was better than explaining myself. It was those truths that came out before I decided to. You can’t hide away forever. I don’t think i was even trying. But music never let me lie. Something always would come out in the songs.

So now you know what you may have always assumed. Good for you. How does it feel? Do you want a “gaydar” award? Do you want to be pat on the back because you can “spot them”?

It is not news. It is not meant to be salacious. Until you know what it’s like to hide, to keep away true happiness out of fear. That’s when you truly understand what it’s like. It’s not about coming out to wave a flag in another’s face. At least it’s not for me. For me its about finding the purist of peace. The absolute settling of my soul. The clearest vision of the road I want to take.

I’m 30. I don’t want to die anymore. I want to really live. Honestly, and fully. What an amazing place to be. For me it was a place I never cared about. Now all I want is to be honest.

That’s what this whole “coming out” thing is for me. It’s been quite a real and beautiful day to have so much compassion and love coming from strangers, fans that have been there since the beginning, new fans, family, friends. For someone like me, the eternal self deprecator, i just want to say thank you.
I guess the last thing I want to say tonight and for now is if you’re like me, a wanderer, a questioner, a soul searcher, a dreamer, or misunderstood for any reason at all: Come out.

Come out as a wanderer. Come out as a questioner. One day it wont matter. But it still does. Come out as YOU. That’s all I really can say. That’s what i’d say to me at 21, the scared return mormon missionary who knew this part of himself but loved God too. You can do both. Don’t let anyone tell you you can’t.

All my love and hope, and for now, back to the music.

XO Your friend, Tyler.

In September 2005, he started his own corporation Quentin Elias Music, Inc..
