of downloads paid back the loans and proved how big the audience was for
the show. But all the conversations we had with networks and
advertisers did not pan out and we must turn to the fans of the show to
make more episodes.”

But starting today… I’m laying it out there. I’m done playing it safe.
I don’t have a manager or a label or any sort of funding other than the
tip money I make playing piano downtown at The Joynt, and also,
ironically to some, in the churches on Sunday morning… (we’ll see how
long I’ll be singing “Glory to God” should this video see the light of
day).
As far as the ascetic achievements of the video… lets
just say I was lucky to have a good friend introduce me to the best team
I could have asked for… who held on to the roller coaster that was
this project and dealt with all my intensity and craziness as the true
professionals they were.
I wrote the song during a drunken
piano jam session at a party. I recorded the vocals in my parents
basement and worked with my friend Max Steger: http://maxsteger.com/ to record and mix the rest of the instruments.
I feel like music industry people wouldn’t like the idea of me
“pigeonholing” myself by telling this story as I have. But I don’t
believe the world sees change until it sees honesty.
So I went in on my own.
BUT my story would never have seen the light of day were it not for the kindness and generosity of so many that helped me through this process, many of whom asked for nothing in return. I know my passion and intensity for this project were a lot to deal with (that might be the understatement of the year.. ;)) I want to thank my crew and everyone involved for doing your best to help me keep my sanity… just barely. And thank you for sticking with me; for your flexibility and patience and helping to bring my vision to life. And to mom and dad… I know you guys don’t always understand just what the hell I am trying to do, but continue to love and support me nonetheless. It means everything to me…

Where’s the BEEF? at KRAFT
Last week’s issue of People Magazine had the most
disgusting ad on the inside front cover that we have ever seen Kraft
produce. A full 2-page ad features a n*ked man lying on a picnic blanket
with only a small portion of the blanket barely covering his g*nitals.
It is easy to see what the ad is really selling. A person has to look
closely to see the item the company is marketing because the salad
dressing bottle is so small next to the male model, picnic basket and
other food items. There is also a small Kraft logo in the upper corners
with the words “Silverware Optional – Let’s Get Zesty.” The website
getmezesty.com is listed in the bottom corner.Kraft has gone too far and will push away loyal, conservative
customers with this new ad campaign. Christians will not be able to buy
Kraft dressings or any of their products until they clean up their
advertising. The consumers they are attempting to attract – women and
mothers – are the very ones they are driving away. Who will want Kraft
products in their fridge or pantry if this vulgarity is what they
represent?One Million Moms cannot get over the gall of this company. It is
unnecessary for Kraft to use s*x to sell salad dressing! (An asterisk is
used to ensure our emails get through to those who have signed up to
receive our alerts. Otherwise, referencing specific words would cause
our emails to be blocked by some Internet filters.)

holding down office jobs, he decided at the age of 27 to enter the
entertainment industry. Originally setting his sights on acting, he
switched gears after being offered a dance job while taking class at
Broadway Dance Center. He soon found himself performing on stage as a
back-up dancer for club music diva, Reina. Other opportunities followed
such as dancing for freestyle legend, Safire, as well as appearing in
episodes of MTV’s show, Global Groove.
He went to LA for a while and ended up back in NY. He started writing a
blog about his search for love as a gay man in his late 30s. Still an
optimist, Justin wanted to chronicle his experiences in the hopes of
providing inspiration to others who question if old-fashioned romance is
still worth believing in. He named his blog Naked in New York City to reflect his writing style, which he considers to be emotionally naked. Although it began as a dating blog, Naked in New York City
has evolved over time to incorporate commentaries about gay culture
that Justin finds intriguing. He also continues the self-exploration he
began on the West Coast by blogging introspective pieces about himself.
Justin alluded to his past in a few entries, but hadn’t really gone
into full detail since he felt his blog wasn’t the appropriate place for
those stories. During a vacation in London in July of 2011, Justin
wrote the first chapter of what would become his memoir, Inside the Vortex.
It is an emotional, and at times dark story, but the end result makes
it a journey that was worth the trip. Originally released on June 15,
2012, the memoir was reissued and received a wider distribution as an
expanded second edition on March 4, 2013. Justin currently resides in
Westchester County.

When asked, What was the motivation behind the fun farm setting???
Artists Katie Commodoresaid,” We all got together to brainstorm the next pattern and decided to go with a traditional toile. My art has always been about usurping traditional mediums or styles and using them as a vehicle for portraying sexuality. So the idea of taking a traditional toile and using fun homoerotic imagery made perfect sense! Traditional toile, which first became fashionable in the 16th century, has images of pastoral scenes; what’s more pastoral than cowboys and farm hands???

made this video when I was in Toronto. We wrote the names of LGBT suicide victims on balloons. I wanted to do a video to raise awareness about
the issue and to honor the lives of those that didn’t make it. That’s
where the idea for 250 Balloons to Remember the Fallen came from, and –
of the 500+ videos that I’ve made it’s my absolute favorite.” (all of the balloons were biodegradable).
Is RED BALLOONS one of YOUR favorite Videos – or most popular? “Each video holds a very special place in my heart—and usually my
favorite video is the one I’m currently working on. But the most
important videos are rarely the ones that get the most views because I’m
not talking about sex, foreskin or gay twins.
If I had to pick just
one, it would be “250 Balloons to Remember the Fallen”. It was
our own little tribute, but it was incredibly moving and powerful. And
it didn’t contain a single penis joke. Go figure! I hope that my videos are entertaining, but – at their core – I try to

“5 or 10 years ago, I would never have thought that I’d be doing this. Creating YouTube videos for a living wasn’t even a job that existed. Looking forward, I have no idea what I’ll be doing. I have talked to television people, but you give up so much control. I love what I do right now. Wherever life takes me, I hope that I’ll have an open mind, a loving heart and a sense of adventure.“

Zac Efron is Flattered By His Gay Fans

It’s not just millions of women around the world that love Zac Efron – and nobody knows that better
than Efron himself. Only, the 24-year-old actor who came to prominence in the Disney Channel’s High
School Musical, and stars in the upcoming southern thriller The Paperboy from director Lee Daniels, told the gay glossy The Advocate he doesn’t mind the attention at all.
“It’s very flattering,” he said, acknowledging his gay fan base in his first interview with an LGBT
publication.
“After High School Musical and Hairspray, I’ve always felt embraced by the gay community,” he continued. “And I feel incredibly grateful.”
“I think the gay audience related to my character Troy,” Efron said, referring to the character he played in the 2006 High School Musical film. “Because it really was a story of embracing who you are, no matter how different you might be, and not being afraid to show it. That’s a universal theme for everyone, but it specifically resonated with the gay community, and I felt very proud of that.”
Efron told The Advocate, “This is actually a very special interview for me. I’m extremely aware of the support I’ve gotten from you guys over the years and it’s amazing that it’s taken this long to sit down and actually discuss it, but please know that it hasn’t gone unappreciated. I’m so excited to be talking to you.”
In the interview, Efron recalls his time as a young musical theater kid and how being gay was never taboo in his social circles. “Being gay was just another way you can be. I never really had time to think about it or have any preconceived notions. I don’t judge anyone and I never have.”
“I might’ve been less aware of it back then,” he adds, “but without question I had gay role models.”
He says he would never take a role just for the sake of playing gay but is always looking for a role that’s challenging, different, and entails some risk, “so there’s no doubt in my mind that one of those characters will be gay at some point in the future.”
Efron, who identifies as straight, has had his sexual orientation questioned but maintains that he is not the least bit bothered by the rumors. “I don’t like to live in fear about things like rumors and backlash to begin with – that’s the way I was raised – but I just can’t see what’s so wrong about being gay.”
Efron even came out in support of same-sex marriage, telling The Advocate, “It’s an issue that affects so many people in my life – a lot of my close friends and some of the most influential people around me. I just want them all to be happy. It would make me so happy to see them able to live their lives and do what they want to do.”
